Previous versions were developed in 1984, 1993 and 2004. "For more than a decade we have made our last list. A lot has changed since then in Canadian cinema, which has affected the results of the survey, "says Steve Gravestock, Senior Programmer at TIFF.
My uncle Antoine of Claude Jutra had been at the top of this list for a very long time but was dislodged this year by Atanarjuat: The Fast Runner by Zacharias Kunuk. New filmmakers, including Jean-Claude Lauzon, Sarah Polley, and Jean-Marc Vallée, made their debut in 2015.
